National Dog Day!
/Loving #nationaldogday !! Seeing all your 🐾 loves lights me up. Bear spent the day looking for his fave ball at the bottom of the lake. 😂 🤦🏻♀️
Fun facts about Bear:
•11/22 B-day 😇 😇 which is a double master teacher angel number
•he was born in Arkansas and came to Chicago from a van of volunteers that rescued him from a kill shelter in an area with low adoption rates
•we adopted from the anti-cruelty society the next Valentine’s Day
•we knew we had to bring him home bc he has Izzy’s eyes
•he’s lab and plott hound mix and whatever else
•he was such an important part of our healing journey, showing us how much we could love again after loss
•I thought he was deaf for months bc he wouldn’t listen or acknowledge my calls
•he got most improved at puppy school (prob bc he was so crazy when we started)
•he eats the corn off the cob and it brings us all so much joy to watch
•he can be found at least twice a day walking around with a butter knife in his mouth. After we butter or nut butter anything he takes the 🔪 sideways in his mouth and carries it to his knife licking spot and gets after it.
•he takes really good care of his toys.
•we use to dress him in all bow ties, but after getting to know his personality realized he’s 💯 a bandana guy
•he’s super sensitive like the rest of our fam
•Mike use to give him sips of beer when he was a puppy. Once we were walking through an alley and all of a sudden he scored a broken Bud Light bottle. He liked the taste so much that I had to pry his mouth open to get broken glass from him. So began his sobriety journey.
•he likes to sleep by himself and won’t sleep with us through the night
•he accepts/tolerates/such a good sport about CG dressing him up and her passionate shows of affection
•he’s the best. He’s the center of our “Bear Family.” Such a solid, loving, loyal, dog next door, and bestie to each of us
