Life works in mysterious ways!

We shared a bed in the ER yesterday from a upper respiratory virus that’s been kicking our booties. She had a fever for 6 days and most of us went down with her in the last few days.

Our family vacay wasn’t what we were expecting. But it was really comforting to have family here and have the support. Just hanging out and playing games, taking care of CG together.

Her’s turned into croup and mine vertigo. We had never experienced either, and it was scary. I was on the bathroom floor unable to stand, honestly thinking maybe I was dying. I had caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror with no color in my face or lips shaking and feeling like I was spinning. Mike was trying to comfort CG who was up with yet another spike in her fever, in a panicked coughing fit.

So grateful to my beautiful nurse sister, Melissa Holloway, for asking Spirit if she was supposed to stay. Even though Melissa and my niece, Mya, also had this funk, they were here with us. They found me on the floor and CG struggling. After Momo’s superhero nurse evaluation, she took us to the ER at 4am on Friday.

Life works in mysterious ways. Feeling grateful for right place right time energy and the protection around us. And for all the supportive treatment we received.

Good Sam hospital in DG was excellent. CG had chest X-rays while on my lap and a breathing treatment while laying on me. They kept us cuddled together which kept us both calm and feeling safe. After a steroid type injection for her and the vertigo cocktail and several bags of fluids for me, we were back home sleeping the day and evening away. I don’t think either of us have slept so much.

We’re feeling much better today. Thanks for all the love and healing energy.
