Flying Free Into 2016

I'm so excited to share with you a few of my beloved New Years traditions! It's a NEW freaking year! It's like going to a brand new school, you get a fresh start. Yes you can give yourself a fresh start any damn time you want (and I highly recommend it). But it's bigger than that - the whole world is saying fresh start!!! Energetically we are all feeling ready to release 2015 and step forward into a magical new world filled with possibility. Take note of any ideas that come to you during this time, ones appearing now are not yet tainted by self sabotage and that dreaded inner bully. We are feeling limitless and these ideas are in alignment with our true desires!

I have a few practices that allow me to confidentially move forward into the next year. First I both celebrate and release 2015. I will go through my 2015 abundance and joy jars to celebrate even further. Then I make a list of intentions for 2016. I will choose and declare my theme for the year - my favorite and most valuable tool. These can be done in any order.

1. List of 2015 Celebrations. Include my accomplishments, abundance, experiences, lessons learned, growth, relationships, fun times, gentle moments, overcoming of difficult times, breakthroughs, ideas, action steps, release. Be proud of these celebrations. When you really take time to notice how far you've come and all that you've done in one year, it gets you excited to do even more in the next.

2. Jot down everything you're ready to let go of from 2015. Include ideas and limiting beliefs and anything else you don't want to take with you into the next year. Then burn this list as a ceremonious release. Let it go with love and gratitude, for these things certainly came to teach you lessons. However, you no longer need them and can now release them from your mind, body and spirit.

3. If you made a 2015 celebration jar or box, take the time to read, touch and feel each item. Recall how you felt as you watched the volume inside grow over the year. Take a look back at all these celebrations with joy. Enjoy the fresh slate of the now empty vessel and think about all the wonderful experiences you will have that will fill it up again in 2016. Choose the theme for your new jar. Themes such as happiness, joy, gratitude, celebrations, relationship or my favorite ABUNDANCE (which includes all of the above). I will be sharing more about my jars, including photos, on Facebook

4. Set your intentions for 2016. These are not resolutions or expectations, but intentions. Focus on how you want to feel in your mind, body, heart, home, career, relationships. When you focus on feelings and desires, it makes it easy to make choices and take action that are in alignment. You can place this list as the first item in your new celebration jar for 2016.

5. Choose your 2016 theme. This will typically be 1 to 3 words that you will focus on throughout the entire year. Really take the time to feel into what you want this year to represent. Anytime I see the number 2016 or 16, I will take it as a reminder to stop for a moment recall my theme and say thank you to my guides for the reminder. I'll also make it into a mantra or affirmation to repeat to myself. "I am ....." Whatever you focus on you will create more of in your life, so choose your theme and make a plan on how you will remain focused on that throughout the year.

6. Fly free into 2016! You have made room for beautiful experiences and growth. It is your time to shine. You are ready. Take a leap into this year trusting that you have everything it takes to be successful inside you. There is nothing you need to do to earn happiness and abundance. You are worthy and deserving. You are enough.

Happy New Year!!!

Intentional Breathing Meditation

Gift yourself a mindful moment with this new year exercise. Find yourself a comfortable position, either seated or laying down. Set a timer for 3 to 10 minutes. Close your eyes and focus on your breath. Inhale and exhale, deeply and fully. Silently repeat with your breath.

Inhale "I welcome 2016 with love."
Exhale "I release 2015 with light."

It's your NEW year, your fresh start.

Do whatever the heck you want -  but whatever you do, do it good.
